Project Legacy: Let Me Tell You About My Child is a guided memory and legacy book created specifically for parents whose child has died — a lasting place to preserve the life and story of the child they will always love.

Project Legacy may be a meaningful optional resource for professionals and organizations supporting parents after the death of a child. It is designed to be offered gently, without pressure, and used entirely in the parent’s own time.

Created for the parents served by professionals in:

Why Project Legacy Is Different

The life comes before the loss.

A place to preserve who their child was.

Project Legacy is not a grief-treatment program and it does not tell a parent how to grieve. It creates room for stories, photographs, relationships, traditions, humor, milestones, familiar words, and the ordinary details that make a life feel present.

The parent chooses whether to begin, when to begin, and which pages feel right. There is no required order and no expectation that every page be completed.

“This is not a book about how they died. This is a book about how they lived.”

How Professionals May Use Project Legacy

Offer it as an invitation, never an assignment.

Keep a reference copy

Allow staff to become familiar with the book before deciding when it may be appropriate to share with a parent.

Include it as an optional resource

Add Project Legacy to a resource list for parents who may want a place to preserve their child’s life and story.

Let the parent set the pace
